On September 20th, 2023, Erbil Polytechnic University, in collaboration with De Montfort University, hosted an educational workshop to discuss the level and quality of education and learning in the Erbil refugee camp. This workshop was organized as part of the UKRI GCRFN grant proposal, ‘Realising Education’s Promise for Syrian Youth Refugees: Assessment of Education Provision and Learning Environments in Iraq,’ and served as a requirement for building international partnerships in Iraq.
During the workshop, Dr. Najib Toma Rasam, Vice President for Scientific Affairs, delivered the opening speech to mark the commencement of the 1st workshop at EPU.
Dr. Dashne and Dr. Salar provided a detailed update on the project and the progress made in achieving its aims and objectives.
The workshop concluded with presentations by Dr. Fuad Khoshnaw, who discussed the Principles of Ethical Conduct and Responsible Research Involving Children and Young People, and Dr. Ali Al-Bayati, who addressed Best Practices for Data Protection.
